AEXAE has always understood that minimalism gets boring when the fabric has nothing to say. For FW2026, the London-designed label takes its relaxed tailoring into colder territory, trading the linen and fluid resort pieces it became known for for substantial leather, suede, woolly textures and coats that can carry an outfit without much assistance. The silhouettes stay clean, but they are hardly anonymous.
Founded in 2015 by Australian-born, Brazilian-Spanish designer Amelia Perez, AEXAE built its identity around the meeting point between menswear construction and the fluidity of womenswear. That balance is easy to spot here. Jackets have broad sleeves and strong collars without becoming corporate, while floor-skimming trousers fall loosely enough to keep the tailoring from feeling uptight. It is less “perfect capsule wardrobe” and more the person who owns fewer clothes because every piece already looks good.
Brown does more than fill out the neutral palette. Espresso leather, olive suede and plush chocolate outerwear keep black from automatically becoming the most important color in the room. One belted coat wraps generously around the body; another dark style rises high at the neck and is finished with oversized sunglasses. The cropped leather jackets bring a little more attitude, especially when worn with long trousers rather than the expected denim.
The collection also stays connected to the fabric standards behind the brand. AEXAE prioritizes natural materials such as cotton, linen, silk, wool and cashmere across its ready-to-wear, which helps explain why texture matters so much more here than decoration. Within the label’s outerwear, suede and leather are treated as building blocks rather than seasonal extras. FW2026 pushes those materials into fuller shapes while preserving the easy fit that first separated AEXAE from stricter minimal labels.
A cream coat and pale column skirt briefly break up the dark palette, while a feathered mini and fitted black peplum jacket keep the collection from becoming one long exercise in sensible dressing. Still, the pieces with the most staying power are the simplest: a high-neck coat, a brown leather bomber, a close-fitting knit and trousers long enough to nearly hide the shoes. AEXAE does not need an elaborate styling trick. It just needs a very good material and enough room around the body to let it look cool.
