Elisabetta Franchi is shaking up her signature glamour for Spring 2027, and the combination of cycling shorts, corsets and tuxedo jackets is certainly unexpected. Presented at Milan Fashion Week, the collection played with the contrast between sportswear and lingerie, sending roomy tailored jackets down the runway alongside sheer fabrics and body-hugging pieces. The Italian designer hasn’t abandoned her love of sensual dressing, but this season she’s taking a less predictable route, mixing traditionally polished silhouettes with pieces borrowed from the gym and the lingerie drawer.

Corset details appeared almost everywhere. Shiny leather coats and trenches featured cross-lacing along the back, while waist-cinching belts brought a lingerie-inspired touch to translucent skirts. One particularly memorable look paired black cycling shorts with a structured leather bustier finished with double gold zippers. Meanwhile, tiny jaguar prints appeared across tights, blazers and elbow-length gloves. Hosiery-like fabrics were reworked into dresses, skirts and tops, creating a second-skin effect that contrasted with the exaggerated proportions of the outerwear.

Eveningwear brought a different kind of drama. A slinky white dress featured a racer-style front and high collar, while a red ruched top-and-skirt combination came with strategically placed cutouts. A ruby-red sequined slipdress appeared beneath a black tuxedo jacket, joined by sparkling skirts and oversized sequins. Elsewhere, the palette moved through camel, tobacco, nude, pale pink and black. Knee-high boots and thong mules completed the looks, while handbags came either oversized or reduced to compact clutches.
