Kaia Gerber once again stands on the global stage as the face of DKNY’s Fall 2024 campaign. This marks the second consecutive season that the rising style icon has been chosen to represent the iconic American brand, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary. DKNY’s latest campaign, shot by photographer Mikael Jansson and styled by Alastair McKimm draws inspiration from beloved literary works that have immortalized the New York City’s spirit, including Patti Smith’s “Just Kids,” F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby,” and Jay McInerney’s “Bright Lights, Big City.”
Kaia Gerber‘s vibrant energy and personal connection to literature have been instrumental in shaping the campaign’s concept. “Kaia personally is an avid reader and book lover, with a vibrant growing online community through her book club,” explains Trey Laird, the Founder and Chief Creative Officer at Team Laird, who oversaw the creative direction of the campaign. “The concept of the campaign was an inspiring opportunity to connect DKNY’s love of all things New York with Kaia’s love of literature in a pure authentic way.”
Interwoven within the captivating campaign is the debut of DKNY’s 35th anniversary collection, aptly titled “DKNY est. 1989.” The collection features a variety of coats and outerwear pieces that exemplify DKNY’s signature blend of fashion and function. From statement coats worn with a streetwear-inspired flair to cropped puffers paired with pleated skirts, the collection showcases the brand’s ability to cater to diverse style preferences. Alongside the standout outerwear, the 35th anniversary collection also includes multipurpose denim pieces, ranging from long-length skirts to classic jeans. The collection also boasts a selection of plush knits in luxurious fabrics like cashmere and virgin wool, as well as structured capes that add a touch of elegance to any ensemble.
