The Vibe :
⊹ Red poppies spread across organza dresses, fitted skirts and semi-sheer evening layers
⊹ Black grosgrain bows bring a familiar Kristopher Brock signature back into view
⊹ Flamenco references meet V. Chapman’s corseted, vintage-leaning occasionwear
⊹ Knitwear and separates push the romance beyond weddings and formal invitations
V. Chapman x Kristopher Brock feels like a reunion with the kind of romantic dressing that never cared much for minimalism. Titled Amapola Amor, the 26-piece collection covers linen-blend organza, white cotton voile and fitted separates in red poppies, black grosgrain bows and ruffles with enough volume to hold their own in a crowded wedding photo. The partnership makes immediate sense: V. Chapman already lives comfortably among corseted waists and vintage silhouettes, while Brock has spent years making florals look far less innocent than expected.
The Valencia Dress delivers the clearest version of that shared language. A plunging neckline sits above an Empire waist, while cascading gathered tiers are stiffened with horsehair trim and left with raw edges. Elsewhere, the Catalonia dress uses bias paneling and a pleated ruffle hem to keep the fabric moving without losing its shape. These are recognizably V. Chapman dresses, but Brock’s handling of proportion makes them feel slightly less polished and considerably more alive.

Red poppies provide the collection’s central print, appearing across pieces such as the fitted Zapillo skirt and matching Madrid top. The flower gives the collection its Spanish title—“poppy love”—and supports the flamenco references without turning every look into a literal costume. Black grosgrain bows cut through the florals, tying the collaboration back to Brock’s earlier work while giving the label’s skirts and bodices a firmer graphic finish.

The Almeria top and San Sebastian skirt move in a quieter direction. Eggshell organza, gathered necklines, lace trim and layered ruffles create a set that can be separated and worn beyond a formal event. That flexibility matters because the collection is also trying to pull V. Chapman out of the wedding-only box. Knitwear ranges from enveloping turtlenecks to tiny cardigans with removable accordion-pleated hems, giving V. Chapman tops more space in an everyday wardrobe.

A lace Empire-waist gown with a portrait neckline brings the storybook side back at full volume, borrowing the mood of period-film heroines without reading like a replica. Poppy-shaped earrings and a brooch finish the idea, but the strongest pieces do not need the extra explanation. A tiered organza dress, a red floral skirt or a white ruffled set already carries the entire romantic plot.
