AMBUSH Spring Summer 2027 looks prepared to leave Tokyo at a moment’s notice. Yoon Ahn builds the 37-look collection around the friction between highly ordered city life and something more instinctive, drawing inspiration from Clarissa Pinkola Estés’s Women Who Run with the Wolves. Cargo pants, technical outerwear, combat boots, and bright camouflage make the outdoors connection obvious, but flashes of cobalt and cleaner city pieces stop it from reading like straight expedition gear.
The best trick is how much of the wardrobe can change on the move. Extra zips and fastenings let trousers convert into shorts or open up for ventilation, while a padded nylon MA-1 bomber reverses for another way to wear it. Buckled skirts, utilitarian layers, and rugged boots sit beside heeled mules, keeping AMBUSH somewhere between Tokyo streetwear and clothes packed for much rougher terrain. A painted wolf on a jacket and fuzzy bag straps make the nature references harder to miss.
Color gets equally restless. Oxidized copper, moss green, wet-concrete gray, and earthy camouflage run through the lineup before cobalt and orange break the muted stretch. The collection also arrives after Ahn and Verbal regained ownership of AMBUSH and moved production back to Japan, giving SS27’s return-to-roots idea a very literal backdrop. Utility may start the conversation, but the wolf prints, strange color clashes, and convertible pieces keep it from ending there.
