The Vibe :

⊹ Bare backs, slippery satin and hems that refuse to stay still

⊹ Butter yellow replacing the expected summer brights

⊹ Vacation dressing for people with actual evening plans

⊹ Minis and gowns made to look better while moving

DEME by Gabriella’s Summer Capsule is for anyone who finds the usual linen-dress conversation a little too responsible. The lineup goes straight for silk, chiffon, low backs and long drapes, building a warm-weather wardrobe around the part of the day when the sun is down and the plans are getting better. Nothing here is trying to pass as an easy throw-on.

Gaia arrives in butter-yellow silk chiffon, with a plunging cowl neckline, an almost bare back and cape-like sleeves that trail into long side panels. The skirt wraps closely before the fabric falls away, giving the mini enough movement to keep it from looking overly neat. It is very much in step with DEME by Gabriella, where one long drape or sharply placed fold tends to do more than a pile of decoration.

Rae takes the slip dress somewhere less predictable. Off-white silk satin forms the base, while asymmetric chiffon panels and hand-applied tassels pull the hem out of line. Fine straps and a sweetheart neckline keep the top simple, but the back is almost entirely open. Bridal is one possible reading. A beach-club dinner that ends at 2 a.m. feels more accurate.

The rest of the capsule moves between minis, gowns and coordinated pieces, with prices ranging from $205 to $1,120. Fluid fabric and body-conscious draping keep the lineup connected, but the shapes do not repeat themselves into boredom. Compared with the label’s earlier dramatic eveningwear, these pieces reveal more skin, move faster and look much less interested in formal behavior.

  • Author - Andrea

From fashion and beauty to health and wellness, she enjoys sharing and connecting on the topics that help to make our everyday lives just a bit brighter. If you don't find her behind her laptop writing her latest article, you'll also find her walking her dog, whipping up a new recipe, or scouring the mall for the latest trends. Andrea's experience in fashion began after graduating from the Fashion Marketing and Merchandising program from the Academy of Design in Toronto, ON. She broke out into the competitive world of fashion by launching her own online boutique, selling women's clothing and accessories. From there, very quickly, she discovered online selling was not for her. She now prefers to stay behind the computer, chatting about fashion in a written format that still allows her to connect with fellow style enthusiasts. And, since then, she has never looked back, writing for independent magazines, small businesses, and everything in between. Andrea now also occasionally writes for companies and brands outside the fashion and beauty industry, but at the end of the day, her heart remains loyal to what she knows best—great fashion.
