Farrago Turns One Pair Into A Whole New Mood

The Vibe :

⊹ Luxury footwear that changes when the outfit does

⊹ Tassels, bows, and sequins turn practicality into play

⊹ Strong heels paired with a less-is-more buying philosophy

⊹ Portuguese production and certified leather ground the fantasy

Farrago isn’t asking anyone to commit to one version of a shoe. Founded in 2021 by British designer Matthew Bedford, the luxury footwear label builds boots and mules around interchangeable accessories that can shift the same pair between several personalities. A tassel, bow, or sequin attachment can take a polished heel somewhere louder, giving the indecisive dresser a clever alternative to buying another pair every time the mood changes.

The concept lands most clearly in the Thalia Boot and Charter Mule, two assertive shapes offered in shades including Jet black, Truffle brown, Ravish red, and Electric blue. Each design is produced in Portugal using leather from Leather Working Group-certified tanneries. Bedford studied footwear at Cordwainers, London College of Fashion, and received both the Jimmy Choo Dato’ Award and Cordwainers Prize for Sustainability, credentials that show up in shoes where the hardware, heel, and attachment system all serve a real purpose. Within the wider world of designer shoes, Farrago’s modular setup feels genuinely useful rather than novelty-driven.

That flexibility also gives statement footwear a stronger argument for repeat wear. Farrago boots have already appeared on CMAT, Suki Waterhouse, Mya, and Jisoo, yet the celebrity placements aren’t the most interesting part. The real hook is how easily one recognizable pair can keep returning without looking identical. At a moment when personal style is moving away from disposable microtrends, Farrago offers something more persuasive: fewer shoes, more styling decisions, and absolutely no pressure to pick one personality for the night.

Extra Style Notes

Brand DNA

Founded by London College of Fashion alumnus Matthew Farrago, Farrago makes Portuguese-produced luxury footwear with a transformative streak. Interchangeable accessories turn polished mules and boots into shape-shifting statements built for repeat wear.

  • Author - Andrea

From fashion and beauty to health and wellness, she enjoys sharing and connecting on the topics that help to make our everyday lives just a bit brighter. If you don't find her behind her laptop writing her latest article, you'll also find her walking her dog, whipping up a new recipe, or scouring the mall for the latest trends. Andrea's experience in fashion began after graduating from the Fashion Marketing and Merchandising program from the Academy of Design in Toronto, ON. She broke out into the competitive world of fashion by launching her own online boutique, selling women's clothing and accessories. From there, very quickly, she discovered online selling was not for her. She now prefers to stay behind the computer, chatting about fashion in a written format that still allows her to connect with fellow style enthusiasts. And, since then, she has never looked back, writing for independent magazines, small businesses, and everything in between. Andrea now also occasionally writes for companies and brands outside the fashion and beauty industry, but at the end of the day, her heart remains loyal to what she knows best—great fashion.
