The Vibe :

⊹ Into the Light moves from black toward sea foam, amethyst, rose dust, ivory and nude.

⊹ Exposed corsetry and sheer mesh bring the inner workings of the gowns into view.

⊹ Amelia pairs silk mesh and cutouts with a fully boned nude corset.

⊹ Amira brings sea foam draping, a detachable shoulder cape and matching beadwork.

Michael Costello’s Into the Light is a full color reset. After a previous collection dominated by black, Costello shifts into sea foam, amethyst, rose dust, mauve, ivory and nude, using the palette to trace a more personal turn toward light. The individual gowns make that idea even clearer. Amelia uses amethyst silk mesh, cutouts and a fully boned nude corset with a lace up back before opening into a mermaid train. Amira goes sea foam with one shoulder draping, a front cutout, detachable shoulder cape and matching beadwork over its built in bodysuit and corset. That attention to the body already runs through Michael Costello dresses, but here the foundation of the gown becomes part of what you actually see.

Caixa heads somewhere different again with mauve and taupe beadwork, a high neckline, kimono sleeves, an open back and nude mesh lining. The wider presentation kept playing with reflected light through transparency and embellishment, with Swarovski pieces joining the looks and Steve Madden supplying the footwear. Even the beauty followed through, pairing luminous skin with wet look hair for the stunning presentation.

About The Author

  • Author - Andrea

From fashion and beauty to health and wellness, she enjoys sharing and connecting on the topics that help to make our everyday lives just a bit brighter. If you don't find her behind her laptop writing her latest article, you'll also find her walking her dog, whipping up a new recipe, or scouring the mall for the latest trends. Andrea's experience in fashion began after graduating from the Fashion Marketing and Merchandising program from the Academy of Design in Toronto, ON. She broke out into the competitive world of fashion by launching her own online boutique, selling women's clothing and accessories. From there, very quickly, she discovered online selling was not for her. She now prefers to stay behind the computer, chatting about fashion in a written format that still allows her to connect with fellow style enthusiasts. And, since then, she has never looked back, writing for independent magazines, small businesses, and everything in between. Andrea now also occasionally writes for companies and brands outside the fashion and beauty industry, but at the end of the day, her heart remains loyal to what she knows best—great fashion.
